Audio tracks stop playing back/outputs disable

My experience tells me that I have to restart PT to be sure that all tracks are playing back correct.
Much too cumbersome to check every single track in a huge session.
... at least that's a workaround ...

That's good advice but it's still an extremely small comfort. This is the bug if all bugs and DOES NEED to be fixed ASAP! I know that none of us have any say in this but that doesn't mean that the idea of suggesting that Avid have people working overtime on a fix is in any way anything but a great suggestion.

The problem here, is that once it's happened once in front of a client, and you've tried to explain it away as a bug, then that client is FOREVER hearing differences in the mix and what are you to do? They might be right!? It's a nightmare.

Amen there, It's not good for the confidence when you are second guessing whether everything is actually playing back.

I went back to PT 9. I play with PT 10 when I'm alone. Not with clients. But I'm sure avid knows they have to fix it right way.

Today when recording a choir I recorded and the meters were moving and I didn't notice that the waveform was not updating. The result was an empty recording. Embarrasing...

today it hit me too...

maybe we should stay focused on how and why this is happening to help out Avid fixing this. since this bug is in the released version and people using 10.1 reporting the same problem it might be a tricky one...

When I experienced this bug the first time I was working on a session created with 10HD. I was adding tracks via the New Track shortcut and was working for two days without any problem.
Then, when I added two new stereo tracks some outputs on other tracks were not playing.
I had around 48 voices assigned and very little DSP usage with DSP cache off. CPU around 8% and a 96 voices 2 DSP engine.

when I later added 2 more tracks I noticed that the 2 tracks next to the new tracks are not playing.

so let's get that fixed!
