Default Pt 10.3.3 will not load wirh RME UFX

Just went from PT 10.3.2 to 10.3.3. Downloaded and installed the latest RME UFX drivers. When launching PT, it stops with a message stating that my audio device is set to an invalid sample buffer size. RME sample buffer is set 512. This has worked well since the initial install of PT 9. I have screen shots available, but can't show them here.
When clicking OK to the message, PT shuts down.
See the following:

Is the RME a firewire interface? If so, it could be the VIA FW controller on the motherboard. my i5 build had that and it never would recognize my 003. Installing an approved card with a TI chipset solved that. Have you tried holding the N key whil opening Pro Tools so you can verify that the RME is showing up and selected as the audio engine?

Default Re: Pt 10.3.3 will not load wirh RME UFX

It is connected via USB-2 & the only other devices using USB are the iLok & a thumb drive for Waves. This interface works with other programs-like Sony Vegas Pro. This all came about with the installation of PT 10.3.3 as it has worked flawlessly with earlier releases of Pro Tools. Just love RME, as I can call their tech support without any hassles. I am the first to report this to them as well-they have no hits on this issue.
Thanks for the reply.

Is the RME the selected audio engine in Pro Tools(Setup>Hardware)?

Bumping in here - am having a (slightly) similar issue with sample buffer sizes in ASIO. I'm using Lynx AES16e ASIO and the buffer size seems locked at 32 bytes. Nothing I can do in the Hardware Setup will change this, no matter how many times I change it to 512 and restart PT10, it seems to always come back at 32 bytes. Needless to say the audio is very choppy - and I have a mix to do this weekend before a festival deadline. If I don't make the deadline I'm toast.

I"m currently running 10.3.2 on Win7 x64 and am in the process of updating to 10.3.3

Any ideas would help...

Hi. I"m about to mark my own issue as resolved, but in the meantime - what setting do you have for "Host Engine" checkbox in the "Playback Engine" dialog? If its checked - try unchecking it...

Responding to albee1952, I can't get PT to run at all, so therefore I can't change anything within PT. Is there a way to ignore ALL messages when starting PT? If I could do that, then I can check/make changes. Anyway, my intuition (& you need lots of that to troubleshoot computer systems) tells me that PT is somehow picking up a bogus buffer size when communicating with the RME driver. Of course, as in many cases before, I could be wrong, without knowing the internals of these programs. Just a reminder though, that the driver works fine with Vegas Pro, Reaper, Cubase, & Sound Forge (with only one running at any given time of course).
Thanks for your help.

Have you tried holding the N key while opening Pro Tools so you can verify that the RME is showing up and selected(or at least available) as the audio engine? If you are not able to do this and get to the window where you choose the audio engine, then I suspect the entire install is hosed. If you choose to start over, when you UN-install Pro Tools, you MUST uninstall the HD driver if that option is offered.

Wow! I wish I had known about holding that n key down before. Although the display showed the correct buffer setting, after clicking OK, it worked after that.
Thank you thank you thank you.
If you ever get to the Long Island, New York wine country, I owe you a few beers.

Best regards,
Carlos
