Default HD THUNDERBOLT no longer recognized by PT

I bought an Omni with a HD thunderbolt system about 8 months ago running PT 10.3.8 on Mac os 10.8.4. Has been working flawlessly.. until last week. My HD Thunderbolt is no longer recognized by PT. However it is still recognized by my mac (finder).. so i can use my omni with a bunch of different audio/video softwares like QT and VLC etc.. but pro tools refuses to "see" my hd thunderbolt so it is no longer available in the pull down menu option of PLAYBACK ENGINE.

PLease advise.

I have done everything... hard restarts, plug/unplug cable etc..

THANK YOU

PS: Am i still under warranty? Can I call Avid for support?

Does the red light come up when you plug the TB cable?

and have you tried setting OSX to NOT use the Avid hardware as its audio output(referring to non-PT sound)?

Yes the red light comes on on the HD THUNBERBOLT device (as usual) and becomes green when I press the button (as usual).

Yes I have tried to use other output device such as internal speakers and it works.. then i can come back and re-select the hd thunderbolt (back and forth) without problems. however PT does not see it anymore.

So the device itself should be good, because it powers up and can be used with OSX system audio. Time to bring software up to date, perhaps?

Do you mean bring PT up to date or the firmware of the unit?

OSX 10.9.4 & PT 11.2.1 combo works very well with my TB HDN box

OK i got some news.....

i don't know why (because before it didn't do that) but if I make sure that my apple system preferences for audio is NOT my hd thunderbolt unit (select any other ones)... then PT sees my hd thunderbolt unit. So, it is resolved. I just gotta make sure that there is no interference at all between the two.

thanks guys!

here we go again ....

I just upgraded to Mac OS X 10.8.5 from 10.8.4 and now my Mac Finder does not see the HD Omni thunderbolt. This time, PT actually does see it and PT runs perfectly with the HD OMNI TB. However, when trying to play with itunes or QT, mac finder says "HD THUNDERBOLT NOT CONNECTED".

Any advice?
