I had 2018.4 installed on my windows 7 machine. I did a reinstall and now its telling me this?

I am confused how I installed it and now it doesn't like windows 7.

Having had this problem, the solution was to re-install 2018.3 and then install 2018.4 over the top. Normally I remove the previous version first, but doing this made the install work. A symptom of Win7 no longer being supported I think. Time to consider an OS update.

Same issue. As mentioned above, install 2018.3 first and then install 2018.4 overtop of it. Don't do a clean install by uninstalling 2018.3 first. Hope that helps.

I ended up installing over the top and it works. I am going to go ahead and move to windows 10. I bought a fresh 500GB SSD drive. Time to move ahead. I loved Windows 7 though. Its been good to me. Very stable. Sad to see it go.

I agree. We should all consider this workaround as fair warning to start the transition over to W10. I'll likely stay on W7 through the summer and move to W10 in September. It's been a good rock solid stable ride.

I'm having the same problem. Everything was working fine, for two years. I'm a subscriber. Suddenly PT wouldn't open completely, so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Then got the message that it couldn't install on my machine because the "operating system was inadequate". Same operating system, same everything, for years.

Windows 7 is no longer supported starting from 2018.1. A temp workaround is to install 2018.3 first and then install 2018.4 overtop of it. Don't do a clean install by uninstalling 2018.3 first. Consider moving to W10 in the near future. Hope that helps.

For a quick install of Windows 10 type microsoft media builder in Google get the app and make yourself a Windows 10 bootable USB Key with almost all the update already done If you wonna save time.
