Default How do you contact sales or costumer service?

I find it amusing and increasingly frustrating that it takes me already more than 40 minutes to find how to contact costumer service, tech support or sales. The only option I see is paid option. I have never seen a company that would not want to sale their product. I want to buy an upgrade, but I need to ask how to upgrade educational version. But obviously they do not want our money, because there is no phone number or even e-mail to ask a question. I have wide variety of software on my computers- music and other kinds, and I never experienced anything like this. Most companies have "Contact Support" link right on the main page that at least offers e-mail contact form. If I was ready to spend lots of money on Avid product and found out that there is no one who would be interested to help me to make a purchase, I would take my business somewhere else. This is ridiculous.

Hi,

Your local Avid dealer or retailer is probably the best place to ask! or just ask here what your main question or concern is and I'm sure we can advise the best option etc

I would recommend contacting Sweetwater Music. They have updates available at the same price you could get one on the Avid website, and their customer support is very good. Tell them exactly what you're wanting to do and they can tell you how.

I appreciate your kind replies and all help. I wish Avid was as much costumer-friendly.

I asked this question in another thread, "Where to install PT10". But it was not directly the topic of that thread so it did not get answered. My question is this: We have educational version of PT 10. It was given to us (well- my partner) to prepare the lessons plan for the school he will be working at and teach PT course. We would like to upgrade it to PT 11. There is upgrade on Avid web site from 10 to 11, it is $300. But there is no option for educational version. Also- it says on the box that it is not for distribution to the students and teachers and only for use by institutions. We need to know if individual can even register it and if we can upgrade it to PT 11. Thank you for the info.

Avid really is just not set up to sell directly to consumers an ddeal with pre-sales questions etc. If you need sales help you need to contact an authorized reseller. This is not unique to Avid.

As already suggested, call Sweetwater or call your educational sales provider or even better contact the company that provided the Pro Tools software in the first place. You have very specific questions, including whether you quality at all for any educational pricing, all of which you should take up 1:1 with a sales rep.

Sweetwater have an whole educational group. http://www.sweetwateredu.com

Can you ask whoever gave you this in the first place?

Maybe Bruce or some other Avid folks here may know or be able to find out.
