Video Blank on Session Playback
(*I posted a related question in the LE forum, but I hoped someone here would have more likely encountered this*)
As I have done before, I edited a session (with video) yesterday with no issues. When I open the project today, the video window is black but the audio tracks are fine and play normally. Moreover, I get the same problem when I open other sessions--the audio plays fine, but the video window is all black. It's as thought PT just won't play back video suddenly. Here what I have tried without success: 1) Rebooting (multiple) 2) Deleting / reloading the video file 3) Disconnecting all external devices (controllers, HDs) 4) Removing all plugins I'm really stumped and frustrated and any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Intel Core2Quad Q6600 2 GB RAM Windows XP SP2 PTLE 7.4 |

Re: Video Blank on Session Playback
Is the video track online? This is in the operations drop down menu. This happened to me a few days ago. Somehow the box got unchecked.
Just a thought. Mike |

Re: Video Blank on Session Playback
Hi Mike,
I checked and the video was online. I also tried experimenting with the quicktime settings under the Operations tab but it still doesn't work. Thanks, Rob EDIT: I installed Pro Tools and it still doesn't work. |

Re: Video Blank on Session Playback
I think I found a solution, but it is a bit curious.
I am using two monitors, and if I drag the video window onto my primary monitor before saving the project, then the playback will work when I open the session. The video window will then work on either monitor. The only consistent solutions seems to be which monitor the video window is on the session is SAVED. This has worked for two days so far, and I'll repost if playback fails again. ~Thanks |

Re: Video Blank on Session Playback
Not sure if this is relevant to your situation, but I've had some trouble on one of the systems I work on, where if I drag the video onto the session to import the video, I have problems. If I import it via the Import Video menu, it's OK.
