The answer to your question is (probably) yes.

But as noted in an earlier response, you need to provide more information about your system. It's your computer hardware that is the defining matter - not your OS or PT versions.

I usually recommend Samsung 850 Evos and Pros to everyone with rather current systems as these are great drives. I have had both myself and haven´t had any issues over the years.

However I have read a bunch of articles on the web where people with older versions of OSX like 10.5, 10.6 and older Mac computers from 2008, 2009 for example had experienced issues
with Samsung 850 Evos. I´m no technician at all so I cannot tell you exactly what the problem had been there but the reports came from a few different users which gave me food for thought.

If you intend to keep your older OS and you have an older model of computer (maybe, you haven´t told us about your system yet?), you better may go for OWC SSDs which have been
approved even with older systems and hardware. They are pretty affordable as well and you may find your particular computer model there.

Anyway for systems from OSX 10.8 up to the latest one 10.11 and computers from lets say 2012 until today Samsung 850 Evos and Pros are still the best choice as for quality and prices.
I personally have had only the best experiences with those on more current systems.

The best of success to you.
