Default Upgrading Mac DA Dual 533 AGP w/ aftermarket CPU

I'm looking to get the Digi002, but my dual 533 Mac is not even on the list of usable Mac systems, I believe the 733 is the lowest, and the 600+ just barely makes it, says it may drop tracks during record/playback with heavy tracks or pluigins.

First off, does anyone think my system would work stock, since a dual 533 is about the same MHz combined as a 733, possibly a bit faster. My drives are pretty fast, which might help.

Second, does anyone have success running the latest version of Pro Tools 6.2 and Digi002 with a Mac system running either the Powerlogix dual 1.2 or 1.4ghz processor upgrades, or a Giga designs G-celerator dual 1.25 - 1.4 oveclocked? Any adverse reactions? Or are these cards pretty stable in Pro Tools?

below is my current total system setup.

Mac Digital Audio Dual 533 AGP
OS 10.3.2
1.5 gig of RAM
Ultra 160 Dual Channel SCSI Card
36gb Quantum 10krpm SCSI (system drive)
36gb Seagate 15krpm, 3.6ns seek SCSI (this will be my Pro tools session drive, I may even add a second w/ the two as a RAID... screaming fast!)
Pioneer 106 DVD/RW
Zip 250
Radeon 7500 Graphics, 32mb

Thanks for any info!
Kevin

i ran my 002 with my 466 for almost a year before upgrading to a sonnet encore st G4 800 with 2mb L3 cahce. now i can load things up pretty good and overall performance/ track count has doubled.
personally, i'd go for a dual 1.25 from powerlogix.com. check it out.

Yes go for the fastest DUAL G4 you can afford, Powerlogix, Sonnet (I have and rock stable with PT6.1.2/10.2.8), Gigadesign, they are all fine.

Taken from Sound-On-Sound December 2002 review of Digi002:

Quote:
On our 450MHz G4 Mac with 896MB RAM, audio recording and playback was generally problem-free: we managed simultaneous recording through 10 inputs, the most we were able to try. We also created and played back a 32-track Session, with around 20 effects plug-ins running. As with our 001, the 002 setup was stable and smooth in operation.
I think the plug-ins are those from the Digi Rack.
