C24 Firmware Update

I have a question about C24 Firmware!!

Wy does Protools needs to update the C24 firmware everytime I enable the ethernet port under the Ethernet Controllers window?
Wy the C24 shows v1.05 even after updated from v1.05 to v1.08 as prompted by Protools?
Is it really updating anything?
Is there a way to store v1.08 on the C24's Epron?
