Default Using PT 5.3.1 with Quickeys and Kensington Expert Mouse Pro

Hi,

I'm having a hell of a time using these items together on a PC. Every time I perform a Quickeys shortcut, I lose functionality of my Kensignton buttons (which zoom in and out) until I click on another open program, and then click back into ProTools. It somehow forgets that I'm back in ProTools. Also, I can't seem to perform any dropdown list shortcuts in Quickeys. We use this combination on a Mac every day and it works flawlessy, but not on the PC. Any ideas? Thanks.

Best regards,
Siegfried Meier

I don't know if the Kensington is happy on the PC.. I couldn't find any software at Kensington for the PC.

Look harder my friend. There's software for both WinXP and Win98. We are talking about the Kensington Expert Mouse Pro, right?

Well.. you are correct.. don't know where I was looking before.. however, the downloads page there says:

Requirements:
Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Description:
A self-extracting archive of the full version of Kensington MouseWorks 6.0 software.

Notes:
This software supports all of Kensington family of input devices with the exception of the following:

• Kensington Orbit Elite and Orbit 3D

• Kensington Serial Input Devices

• Kensington WebRacer - PS/2 and Serial

• Kensington ValuMouse series input devices

• Kensington Mouse-in-a-Box Scroll (PS2-Serial - Model #MOSUI)

• Kensington Mouse-in-a-Box Model 64211

• Kensington Expert Mouse versions 1 through 3

Which one do you have? They also have a newer beta release which may fix your problems.

Expert Mouse Pro. I've tried the latest driver as well as the Beta driver. I think the problem lies not with the mouse, but rather a problem with Quickeys and ProTools on the PC. PT for PC somehow doesn't conform to Windows standards-just look how the Windows key is assigned in PT. Can anyone from Digidesign confirm this? Thanks.
