Outboard reverbs

I have real verb, d-verb and the waves verbs at call, yet as they are all cpu hungry would it be a better option going to a m300 tcelectronics or similar to ease the load with better results?
I am a minimalist on plugs putting more time into the source,yet cant avoid verbs in too many projects.
Is it a wise deciscion to move to outboard gear to ease my cpu load and get higher counts. I love the mcDsp plugs yet its the verbs that kill

hello, i've teseted the m300 in frankfurt, and was not impressed.
if i were you i should go for a reverb with a display. far much more easier to edit and
store/recall settings. the lexicon mpx1 is very good, and you can see them 2nd hand, because people are beginning to rely on plugins completely.

On the contrary...

the m300 is actually made easier to use than units that have display, lots of menys etc because it's very slimmed down. it sounds really good (a matter of taste i agree on), AND can be picked up for almost nothing.

i use the unit myself with PT LE and must say it sounds as good as the standard reverb that comes with the package and is as easy to use. looking at the price tag i suspect a lot of units are gonna make their way into the semi-pro studios soonish!

How does the m300 compare to the lexicon mpx 200?

Same sort of price range but ease of use?
Does lexicon still dominate in verbs or is it all hype, ive never worked with them that much but their reputation is very dominant and seem to be standard kit for the most, pro and semi pro studios?

hello, it's me again.
i've a lexicon mpx100 and the sound is good, what can i say. the reverbs are nice
but i like the chorus best. that's what i use the unit for.
like i said before, when you don't have a display it's hard to edit sounds, so you're stuck
to presets, but of course it is faster and easier to set up, i totaly agree with dirren.
i must say that i'm a fan of the reverbs of tc electronic. they're clear, convincing and beautifull.
the plugin, and the m-one xl are great, that's why i was a little disapointed about the m300.
i hoped to get the same sound as a m-one but for a smaller price. it's def. less convincing, to my ears.
the lexicon on the other hand are totaly different. warmer, more difuse and for drums or voices very good to blend the sound into a whole mix, without the reverb becomes annoying.
if you use a reverb mainly for creating a space or room rather than an effect, i suggest you'll try the lexicon first. i you want a reverb to impress, tc is beautifull.

The T.C. M-ONE has been our primary vocal reverb since we started. The verbs on this unit are verry accurate and clear, like was mentioned. It's also easy to use and has plenty of presets to give you ideas of how you can configure the algorythms.

Can any of these reverbs control wet/dry amount(mix). I find that cheap reverbs, for the most, won't let you process mix %
