Default Another Digi001/Control24 question.

ok in 3 weeks i have to go into a studio for a few days to record an EP, problem being i need the PT sessions/wavs to take home (several GB worth). Also i run a 001 and the studio runs Mix24 so to make things with compatibility easier i'm considering just taking my box (windows,001) in there and using the C24.

can the C24 plug into my 001 system (over using my network card) and just go straight out of the box or am i asking for trouble?

any help is apreciated.
Cheers.

Default Re: Another Digi001/Control24 question.

Here's what I would do:

I would create my sessions on the PT Mix24 system selecting either AIFF or .WAV files a check the enforce mac/pc compatability box in the bottom left corner of the create new session dialog box. (the enforce mac/pc option is only available when selecting AIFF or .WAV and not available when SDII files are selected)

Decide how you are going to move the files from their system to yours. If the PT Mix24 is on a Mac you will need to burn your CD-R's in a format that your PC will recognise. If the PT Mix24 is on a PC you should be OK.(CD-R's or hard disk)

I would record to the PT Mix24 system. Make sure the the PT software versions on the two systems are compatable or you may need to do a "Save Session Copy In" to an early software version that matches the version you have on you 001 system.

If you have the newest PT LE software for 001/Windows XP, you should be able to move a 32 track session to your system, otherwise 24 tracks will be your limit.(There are ways to deal with track limits)

Do the above and you should be golden.

Yeah the Mix24 is on Mac, however if it's just a format option on the CD-R then that shouldnt be a problem.

thanks for the help
