I wouldn't cancel based on a few small bugs, we all work around bugs everyday in using any DAW. The ease of use and the composing features of EZ Drummer 2 with the midi content is worth working around the bugs until the bugs are fixed, I use it to compose and then I use the midi to drive SD 2.0 which has its own set of bugs but once you know what and what not to do EZ Drummer 2 is a great tool for composing drum parts and then feeding those midi parts to any Drum VI.

A better purchase on my end would have been the EZ2 and SD2.32 and not the EZX packs I had ordered. I guess I would have had to gotten EZ2 and then ordered the upgrade. however, that would only work if they lf you run both products without forfeiting the other as with other upgrades.

I would not agree that multi-out being hosed as being a small bug. That's a pretty big deal-breaker if one intended to use the EZ2 kits and subsequent packs to output to separate tracks. That's a lot of money for a MIDI generator, especially after getting 4 EZX packs. ($309 total...)

Where I drew the line was that I was able to cancel an order, not return a software license. that's a whole different ball game, or at least it can be.

I hear you, I have been using EZ Drummer 1 for sometime and already have like 8 EZX Packs so I wasn't going back. I bought the EZ Drummer 1 to SD 2.0 for $99.00 like 2 months ago not knowing about EZ Drummer 2 coming out and you didn't have to give up EZ Drummer 1, That said IM pretty use to EZ Drummer so using it just for the midi songwriting tool works for me and for a $89.00 upgrade to EZ Drummer 2, I find myself doing all the drum midi composing in EZ Drummer 1 and then 2 and then using the midi with SD 2.0, AIR Strike, Kontakt and Xpand2 drum sounds so it just works for me and my work flow.

Well it's only a hundred bucks here, so "whatever". But I did wait for months for the last bug fix for EZ Drummer which never came. (offline bounce bug). Perhaps they will treat this one a little better.

Out of curiosity and maybe I missed it, but do you know if the off-line bounce works in EZ-2, or if it is still a bug?

So, and maybe I asked this in not so many words before, but where does the EZX packs stand against the other big boys in the market? Would I be better off using EZ2 to write, SD2 or other for sounds and use the Toontrack MIDIPacks instead of the EZX packs?

Maybe I'm trying to hard to employ Toontrack for whatever reason(s) and should instead look into Addictive2 or BFD3? Doesn't one of them have a similar feature set to EZ2 for writing, or does EZ2 just blow the others out of the water? Straight from the middle of the AD2 page. "New Grid Search system lets you quickly find the beat you hear in your head! " That's the functionality that lifted my eyes when I saw the demo on EZ2 on the PTE site.

Question. Can you use EZDrummer 2 as a straight up sound module?
Using the plugin without their MIDI files, etc. I just want to use my keyboard or Trigger Finger to play my own parts and record MIDI into a Pro Tools Instrument Track. Is this possible. Sounds kind of buggy already.

There's a MIDI mapping for each sound library via the main menu on the right side. Select Sound Libraries, then the Library of choice and then MIDI Layout. I've only tested functionality briefly using my MIDI keyboard controller's 4 pads, but it did work.

There is a trial on their site. Download and try it out for free. I've not had any issues in a while. At least since the minor update.

Yes, it works this way just like any other VI.
