Shure KSM44

I wanted to get some feedback on the Shure KSM44. Anybody using one of these? What's the general consensus. Thanks.

I have a KSM44. Pretty good mike. I didn't buy mine, I traded some studio time for it, hence got it pretty dirt cheap. At 699.99, there are mikes I'd buy instead of it. You can get a Neumann TLM103 for near that money, which (in my opinion) is a vastly superior mike.

I really like my KSM32 for vocals. Also, for what it's worth, I believe the Dixie Chicks use KSM44's. I caught a vide of one of their concerts and they must have had 12 - 15 of them on stage (used for guitar and vox).

Ah...well, if the Dixie Chicks use them they have to...um....have been given to them?
I don't have a big problems with the Dixie Chicks...not even the fat idiotic one .

The KSM44 is a pretty friggin good mic and can be used in a lot of applications. I've used it on vox, guitar, thampura, ambient noise etc. In all of these apps it have been extremely transparent and virtually unbiased. I guess what I'm saying is that I like it but "different mikes for different engineers" Good luck.
