Help - which PT10 version right for my hardware

Hi guys,

Looking at switching to Pro Tools. I need your expertise as to which (cost effective) version (HD/ProTools 10/MP) will work/handle the hardware I already have.

This prurchase needs to be cost effective but I want some bells & whistles, I already know PT HD is out (too much $ right now).

- PC, Windows 7 (64-bit), Dual core, 8 GB RAM, SCSI drives
- Audio card: Lynx Studio L22 (24 bit @ 100 Khz)
- Pre-amp: FMR RNP8380
- Compressor: FMR RNC1773

ProTools 10 standalone is what you're looking for if you just want to use your existing audio interface with ProTools.

Ah, perfect. That's what I was thinking and wanted to confirm. :)

I'm currently using Steinberg's Cubase (old version). Trying to decide to upgrade that, or switch to Pro Tools.

If you are doing a lot of VI work, I would suggest that you download the demo of Pro Tools and work with it for a few days.
