I'm writing this for those who might not know yet.
With Eucon 3.0 and Pro Tools 11 you are now facing a new assignment scheme that some might find less intuitive than what they are used to. So I'm hoping that this little post will help with that.
First, you have to know that unless you deliberately select nooutput before making your selection, you will add the path you select to the current path that is already there. Thus you might end up with +Main L/R instead of Bus 3-4 for instance.
Here's the step by step procedure to make an assignment. Note that Bus is the same thing.
- Hold shift and press Mix
- Press the top knob of the desired channel you wish to do the assignment.
- Press the small on button next to the knob showing nooutput if you do not want to add the assignment to a pre-existing assignment.
- Press the top knob for the type of path you want, Output or Bus.
- This step is for a stereo path, for a mono path go to step 6. Stereo assignment path: Press the small on button next to the knob showing the path you want to choose, if you do not see it there press the next page button. If it is a stereo assignment press the Pan button to exit assignment mod.
- For a mono assignment, press the top knob of the desired path (ie press the top knob for Output 3-4 or Bus 5-6)
- You now see that the Output or the Bus is spilled onto two knobs. Press the small on button next to the knob that has the desired Mono assignment path.
- Press the Pan button to exit the Output/Bus assignment mode.
Take note that this procedure also works for assigning the channel inputs. You how ever have to press both the back page and next page simultaneously and then select the last knob to the right first to select the current input assignment that exists on the channel.. Why?? I don't know.. but that's how it works for the moment.
I hope this will help those that didn't know of this change.
