Default Distorted playback

Hi everyone. Thanks for advice in advance. I Installed PT 9 today with the updates and driver updates. I have a 002 rack and playing sessions results in a very digitized distorted playback that seems to be slowing down and speeding up.

Here are my pc specs

Windows 7 home premium 64 bit

Intel i7 [email protected]

8 gig of ram

two samsung HD103SJ ATA drives

I've just tried running a session with my mbox 2 and all seems fine. could a dodgy firewire cable or connection be the problem?

BUMP

Even playing a track on media player via the outputs of my 002 resulted in the same problem. As this happened i double checked my 002 on an older PC of mine and it worked fine. Also tried the legacy firewire driver and PT9 wont even play a track using that driver. getting really stuck now.

heres my sandra report

Now I've used the mbox for say 10 minutes on a session the slowing down/digitized distorion is happening. The only difference being that the when I use the 002 it happens straight away. I'm guessing its not a firewire problem then

Hi,

Number 1 issue that jumps out at me is your wireless USB. Remove it and uninstall its drivers and try again then. It may seem drastic but the drivers will have to go just to be sure - make sure you re boot after you have un installed those drivers :)

Report back and we will move onto the next thing ( But I bet you it fixes it )

Ok, Here are a few more :)

1) What is 'card expert HD audio driver' and remove it and re boot try with Mbox. By the way , is this Mbox 2 or above ? Mbox 1 is no longer supported.

2) What sample rate are trying to use ? Increase to 1024 samples and see if this goes 'away'.

Alright , let me know how you go. If this does not help , be prepared for a 'geek alert'. We might have to dig a little deeper :)
