Radio Broadcasting desks

Hello there everybody.
I work in a college and we have been asked to revamp 2 very old studios. One is to be for more advanced radio broadcast on a college radio station and the other to be in a studio for voice, group discussions etc recordings. We Have a pretty good budget but one of the main parts are the two desks. The one for broadcast will need 4 mic inputs, playout from a central computer with songs, carts, cd's etc and will have to put up with regular student work. we will be hopefully playing our RCS software (deals not sorted out yet.) our budget for the desks would be around 2-5 thousand, we have an overall budget so we can move things around if required but clearly if we go high they we will need to go low elsewhere.
so I was wondering if you folk might have some suggestions?

You might want to look at Wheatstone or Axia systems. That's where many radio stations are going.

As The Weed mentioned, Axia and Wheatstone are the two that most stations will be basing their systems on.

The desks don’t have inputs in the traditional sense. Think of it more as a controller that connects to nodes via Ethernet. Each node gives the system functionality and can be expanded exponentially over time. Banks of mic inputs and line inputs and telephony connections.

Unfortunately, 5 grand will get you virtually nothing. You’re going to have to triple that at a minimum. Well, that’s what it costs here in AU.

Also, RCS has migrated to Zetta. It will still work, but all the development has moved to the new platform.

If you guys can afford RCS, surely you can afford more than 5 grand! HAHA!
