Default Best PTLE/OSX for dual GHzQuicksilver and 002?

I was hoping a few brave souls would find a working solution for my "vintage" Quicksilver dual 1GHz Mac, but it appears that it won't fly with PTLE 7.

Until I can afford a new machine, which version of PTLE and OSX are most stable with my Mac?

Digi's 002 compatibility page says PTLE 6.9.2 will run with Tiger 10.4.1 and 10.4.2, but curious if earlier versions of PT or OSX will be more stable. The main 3rd party plug ins I use are Waves Gold Bundle, NI Battery, and NIB4.

Thanks in advance for any advice,
Dave

BUMP....anybody have thoughts on this?

I've read a few posts that suggest Tiger is a much more demanding OS than pre 10.4 versions of OSX. As I probably won't get PTLE 7 to run on this machine, I'm wondering if I should go back to OS 10.3.9. I can live without Tiger if an earlier OSX will give me better performance with my Quicksilver Mac.

ANY advice on this would be appreciated.
Dave

Personally I heard the very opposite, but thats just what I heard. Tiger is supposed to be better performance.

As for OSX 10.3 ??? I personally had the best perfomance with 10.3.4

Can I say 100 percent sure that i noticed a difference, well... not really =)

Sorry I'm no help
Regards,
scott

Scott,

Thanks for the reply. I like the look and features of OSX, but I wish there was a way to dumb it down a bit for older computers. All the glitzy interface stuff is nice eye candy, but it eats up CPU cycles that I'd rather save for ProTools.

I'm going to try Tiger and PTLE7 on a seperate partition, to see how it works. I expect that I'll probably do most of my work with PTLE6.9.2 and OSX 10.3.8 until I can get a new machine.

cheers,
Dave
