Yeah I'm 10.8.5 as well. Avoiding Mavericks like the plague.

The only way I even consider Mavericks is if I got a new Mac and was forced into it. Got my system stable and working quite well unless there's an operator caused error

I too had the same problem...

Using PT 11.2.1 no plug-ins only 3 tracks kept getting the AAE 9173 error..

I am runing OSX 10.9.4 (Mavericks) ... kept getting that error every time I turned around..
(mac mini 16gig DDR3 ram 2 GHz Intel core i7) I know I have enough resources. I have no problems when running seesions or the exact seesion in PT10.

Since I wasn't running plug-ins I knew it had to be with the PT 11.2.1...So I went to PT 11.2.0 still same problem... Went to PT 11.1.3 works perfectly

So IMHO it has to be a bug in PT 11.2.? and with everything I've read from other sites everyone started having problems when they upgraded to PT 11.2.

Can you report back on the switch to 11.1.3 in a couple of days. I have had this issue since I switched to 11.2, trying to figure out if I should go back.

So far I have had no issues going back to PT 11.1.3. It has ran flawlessly since going back to it.

I definitely think that the problem is PT 11.2 because I have had NO issues with the same session since going back....

Things got better for me in PT11 native after going from Mountain Lion to Mavericks. I also changed machines (3,1 to 5,1), so who knows.

I updated my system to latest everything (MacOS 10.9.4, PT11.2.1, HD driver s11.2.1, every third party plug-in) and the problem remained (AAE -9173 Error when doing a real time bounce).

I reverted back to PT11.1.3 = Issue is gone!

The problem is definitely coming from 11.2 and 11.2.1

I tend to agree with this. While I did a clean install of 11.2.1, and removed NI plugs and my BlueCat plugs to a measure of success (I have about 15% more CPU headroom), I still get the occasional -9173, something I never got on the same sessions before 11.2.x.

I think the problem is coming from 11.2 and 11.2.1 ...

Indeed is a 11.2 and 11.2.1 bug as evidenced by my hardworking support person from Avid.

I just removed the BlueCat FreqAnalyst 2 plugin and now it seems the issue has gone away.
I'll test it out some more but so far it's working!
Can't remember who suggested removing the BlueCat plugin but thank you
