Default ProTools 6.1.1 & IBM Thinkpad T42 (Newbie)

Just hooked up the old MBOX to my ThinkPad. Im new to protools.. however, my question is :Should my CPU usage consistently stay at 100% while running protools??? I have 512MB RAM.. is that the reason for this?? thanks!

Does the T42 use Intel's speed stepping? If so turn it off if you can.
