Pro Tools 11 trash preferences

Friends,

from time to time, when I use XPand2, or other instrument tracks, it sustains and generally misbehaves. In the past, I would trash prefs and all would be good. As of yesterday, both my PT 11 and 10 rigs are acting up and the trashing of preferences is not doing anything. HELP!
