Default DDR ram or regular SDR ram

I noticed that Digidesign doesn't support boards that use DDR ram. How much better performance would I get DDR ram with Digi 001?

thanks in advance,
geetarbill

I do not have much respect for DD RAM.......bench mark results are uninspiring....especially for the price......
