HD Driver 2023.9 STILL Broken.

The new HD Driver 2023.9 is broken as it was in 2023.6.

Reverting back to HD Driver 2023.3 works with PT 2023.9 as it did with 2023.6.

Come on Avid..

That's not happening on my system. Mac mini M2, 32GB, 1TB, Ventura 13.5.2, HD Native card in Avid Thunderbolt chassis to Omni interface. You're running an old system there.

Did HD driver 2023.6 work for you? It took Avid about a week to figure out that one was broken on Intel. They pulled it and never fixed it.

2023.6 worked for me from the beginning. Sorry to see that whatever is giving you trouble has continued without a fix. It can't be just the driver if it's working for so many others (all my coworkers use it successfully), but I suppose you could say that it *is* the problem if it's somehow not playing nice with some other bit of software/hardware. Good luck and I hope Avid gets it sorted.

I was installing PT 2023.9 as I was typing that and it finished though I have not yet installed the 2023.9 Driver. I opened PT and checked a large session and it seems to be fine.

So... if you were somehow able to get PT to play nice with the 2023.6 driver know that it may not be mandatory to install the 2023.9 driver after updating PT.

HD Driver 2023.6 never worked reliably for me and then Avid pulled it and recommended everyone revert to 2023.3. 2023.9 is giving the exact same error as 2023.6 did. 2023.3 is working flawlessly with PT 2023.9.

Avid is only testing Pro Tools on Mac Pros 2019 or newer and M1 & M2 Macs. Just sayin'

Yeah I may be at the end of the line here but will use HD driver 2023.3 for as long as it works.

I don't think there's any advantage to using 2023.9 anyway.
