Maxim asks re-authorization every time

I had Maxim 2 years since W98 and PT5.1, going through XP and 6.1.1 & now 6.4 with never a hitch, but now, everytime I open a session, it asks for the authorizaion disquette. It takes it, although there is no autorization count on it, and thanks me for registering. Then I can go about my business, but it's of course, not normal and is a pain. It started a few weeks ago and I tried a System Restore to before that time, but that and un- and re-installing Maxim don't help. I tried a DUC & Answerbase search, but didn't find anything, either.

The Maxim is on the Cdrive, as is PT, if that helps. It matters not whether or not I have Maxim as a plug-in on the session, and also, Sound Replacer does it to me, too, though not as often, as of yet. I haven't tried a PT uninstall yet; I am a little scared to do that and not sure it would help.

When you went to 6.4, did you update the plugins as well? Do you have the latest PACE/iLok drivers?

I think you need a new code for Maxim. Digi will provide this as part of your 1 year updates. If you qualified for the free v6 upgrade, this should also have included your maxim plugin. I had a similar problem when I updated the plugins.

OK, thanks for all the information. I have the newer version of Maxim up and running on the iLok that Digi quickly authorized. I just wonder why the older disquette system worked fine until now. Oh well - no big deal. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
