Set end point for session
I am looking for a way to set an end point for a song. I want to bounce the file to the exact length every time without having to highlight the section I want bounced. I just want to know if there is a way I can set it so the file bounces to the same length every time without me having to think about it.

Re: Set end point for session
You can make a Marker that is a selection. Just Select it when you want to bounce and it will be the exact same length.

Re: Set end point for session
as Mark said.
just about every session I've ever done has my "Mixdown Range" in Marker #40. it's simple muscle memory for me to be ready to bounce/track a mix. it's really worthwhile to make yourself a good template with Window Configurations, Memory Locations (for range, track heights, track show/hide etc) so that your sessions are always organized to your personal standard. Update any of them with Ctrl+Click. |

Re: Set end point for session
I also use a marker set to Selection for bouncing. Every bounce will be exactly the same length if you use this option.

Re: Set end point for session
the Session Setup window allows you to set your session start and length:

Re: Set end point for session
right...but to the OP's point: you could set your session length to 4 minutes, or 64 bars, or whatever the length of the song, an then when you go to bounce you do not need to select anything on the timeline, or fire a marker. That was the original question raised in this thread, if I understood it correctly.

Re: Set end point for session
ok. try setting the session length to 4 minutes in the Session Setup Window, and post us the screenshot of your result.

Re: Set end point for session
Alternative: Just create an empty clip group on a mono track and whenever you want to bounce you just select that clip and you'll get the same exact selection down to the sample.

This is what I have done for decades, and it works flawlessly. Bonus if you’re sending a track to sync to video, or stems, print a 1-frame 2beep at the beginning of the region and make it part of the Clip Group Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
