Need a little help with DSP issues.

I'm still fairly new to PTools and I have a little enquiry.
Sometimes when I'm trying to use plug-ins in an insert, I get a window saying "Can't open plug-in in track"X". Digidesign DSP manager not in plugins folder. "
Please help.

Next question:
What's the maximum bit depth of the optical connections on the ADAT bridge? Is it 20 bits tops or 24 bits?

You may want to take note of what plugins you are having that problem with. It could be a plugin version problem.

If it is a Digidesign distributed plugin, try running the plugin updater on the Pro Tools CD rom.

If it is not a Digi distributed plugin contact the company that makes the plugin and see if there is a newer version available.

Thanks Jon for your prompt reply.
I checked the PTools CDROM and the plug-ins that I'm having the problem with are not in there. Basically, when I have the D2 and D3 on a different channel, I can't open the EQII and Dynamics II for example.
I can load up the plug-ins from Audiosuite but they won't come up on the channel inserts. Very strange.
I have a Mix system and most of the work I do is just editing. I checked the Allocator and my DSPs are fine; they're miles before being maxed out.
If you need more info regarding my setup, please let me know.
Please inform me if you've any more ideas or suggestions to help rectify the problem.
