Default Most influential, or best NEW artist.

3 Questions
Best or most influential artist of the 80s?
Best or most influential artist after 1989?
Best or most influential artist after 1999?

For the above, I am asking about your personal opinion, the best of most influential to you. Not "most influential on the music industry, in your opinion".

I am interested in what people here at the DUC get into

Thanks!

80's = Guns n Roses/Hanoi Rocks/Poison

after 89's = Lenny K./Alice in Chains/Jellyfish

after 99's = System of a Down/?

That's as close as I could get to narrowing it down to a minimum.

80's - Guns N Roses, hands down
after 89 - Alice In Chains, Soundgarden
after 90 - Queens of the Stoneage, Fantomas, DOWN, Devils Among Us (personal plug)

I personally have a huge disliking towards most of the music thats out there today. I think alot of kids missed the mark where they were exposed to really good bands who worked hard on their sound and music, and thats an unfortunate thing.

oops on the 89/90 thing, I actually wanted to make that one time line, because I think that anything after 99 so far has been awful. Sorry to anyone who disagrees, just my personal feelings.

80's-Red Hot Chili Peppers/GNR
90's-Still Lovin' STP
99---System of a down is pretty great. Not to mention there isn't a lot of competition.

These are / were amazing musicians with a signature sound. They aren't really influential. Just great.

80's - Metallica
90's - Korn, Nirvana
99+ - System of a Down

I was real glad to see that others are getting into System. Their latest album just totally blew me away, much like the early Metallica albums did. Until I heard System's latest album I forgot what that feeling was like!

peace
