How do i listen to itunes when PTLE is already running on 003 hardware???

That's understandable... albeit kinda frustrating. I assumed Digidesign would use the same audio driver for both when I upgraded to the 003. I hope this driver update happens sooner than later.


Any other suggestions on a decent center station solution (under $1500) where I'm not using the line-out of my mac?

The Presonus Central Station is under $500. If you have a Mac Pro, the optical SPDIF out can patch directly into the Central Station.

Hi, just got the 003 rack.
I understand that I can't play itunes through the 003 when PT is open so I have a 3.5mm(from the G5) to two 1/4 in plugs hooked up on the 003's AUX.

So by doing that, I'm assuming that if I have PT open and wanted to hear itunes, I could just hit the AUX button and I should be able to hear itunes.

My problem right now is if PT is open, I can launch itunes but I can't play any songs. I hit play or double click a song and nothing happens. Itunes just basically sits there without doing anything.

Has anyone had this problem?

Using the analog output of the mac isn't an option. It's hardly "reference" quality.

I used to use a small mixer, send the mac audio to the tape ins with a mini jack to rca cable, send the interface outs to a stereo in or two mono tracks, i did this for years, works really well.

I used to have the 1/8" out jack of my mac plugged into the rca inputs of my 002. When I wanted to hear "system" sounds I'd hit the alt source to monitor button. You can't hear both simultaneously this way, but I never needed to.

Unfortunately, I still can't play itunes at all when PT is launched.
Under System Prefs>Sounds, I choose Mac's internal speakers, built in audio.
When I have PT laucnhed, itunes pretty much just freezes.

'Course to hear both, you make a stereo aux, set it's inputs to 7-8 and use "alt source to 7-8"
