Dell XPS for PT
We have a guy who works here (in the studio) asking about Dell XPS systems and PT LE 7. None of us knows anything about the XPS 400 , so I thought I'd ask you guys. Our stuff is mostly Mac based.
Thanks, Joey |

Re: Dell XPS for PT
It should run fine Joey. It's basically the same machine as the Dell Dimension 9100 that's on Digi's Recommended Desktops page.
I'm running PT 7.1 (002) on a Dell XPS 400 that I bought back in November (2.8GHz Pentium D). I added an ADS Pyro PCI 64 firewire card, and removed all the garbage that Dell installed on the machine. It runs well enough for me (32+26 on Davec II tests), but it's not as powerful as many of the dual (and quad) AMD machines that many here in the forum have built themselves. Though it is stable. More specs on my machine are in my post in the Davec thread. Good luck. -quake |
