Well, I downloaded and installed PTHD 12.6.1 and still no core audio. Bummer!!!

Hello, I found "AvidAudioServerLauncher" app in Applications > Avid > AvidAudioServer , I think is the new "coreaudiomanager"

it's controlled there now.

I am glad Core Audio is working now.

My first HDX card is connected to a DAD AX32. Whenever I restart my computer the sampling rate of the Core Audio driver reverts to 192k.

Each time I have to open the audio/midi setup app and manually select 48k.

Anyone one else experiencing something similar?

I might consider switching back to my 192's if it would work. Also there was some talk about Core Audio Manager 12.6.1, but I can't find a way to download it (or if it even exists). The message I get is "Status: Not Connected (HW in use)".

This is the response I received from Tech Support in mid-July of 2016, when I was on PT 12.5.2. I have since updated to 12.6, 12.6.1, and now 12.7: based on the date of my response (below) this would be 3 "future updates". Still no solution (unless I want to buy an HD Omni, which I don't have any other current need for). I have submitted another support ticket & will post about any response I receive.


"As we discussed over the phone, I told you that Avid Core Audio as of this time is not working with EL Capitan. However, our engineering team is doing their best to write the new driver so that the Avid Core Audio would work again on future updates. As a workaround, if you have a HD Omni, you can use your Mac's built in sound device to work with your other DAW and connect the audio output to HD Omni so that you can have it routed to your Pro Tools HD System.

Core Audio is working Pro Tools HD12.7 and Avid hardware.

But just like before either core audio (iTunes or other) or Pro Tools.
Not simultaneously like we all would like.
