Default PT8 and M-BOX2 PRO sound problem

Hi everybody
I have a problem that goes on since ages
Don't know why but sometimes, in a random way, no audio comes out of my M-BOX2 pro, I have to load PT , going to hardware setup ,changing from internal to S/PDIF and back to internal and magically it starts working again . I have PT8.03 Win7 64bit (but I've always had this problem even with PT7 Win Xp)
Anyone can help me ? Is it a known bug?
Thanks
Ufo

Hmmm, maybe try a firmware update?

To tell you the truth, it's been my first idea but I can't find in the Digidesign site any MBOX2 PRO firmware , maybe I'm dumb
Do you have a link?
Thanks

I have the same problem with the same setup (Win7 x64 w/MBox 2 Pro).

I used to reboot Windows to fix it. Now I just go to Windows Services, then scroll all the way down to Windows Audio, then restart that service. It immediately fixes the problem. I have a shortcut to Services now.

I have the same issue with the same temporary fix (clock source toggling). I'd like this not to happen anymore. Ideas?

I read about the fix for this the other day on here somewhere. I think the trick was to turn off the power management for the firewire or something like that. Can't remember exactly what thread it was in. But someone figured it out recently.

Are you possibly using the power supply? If you are and your firewire ports are the 6 pin type that also supply power, that could be the problem. You should ONLY use the power supply if your FireWire ports don't supply power (the 4 pin type).

See the General Troubleshooting thread for more info and other possible solutions.

Hi, I checked it . Power is supplied only by firewire port 6 pin type , I didn't use the power supply with 4 pin firewire port because it's unconfortable ( in my system) having to plug MBOX off while my PC is off
So problem is still there, any other ideas?
Thanks a lot
Ufo
