Default No Meters when BTD in OSX

Using 10.2.8, PT 6.1, and G4 dual 1.25 Gig, with 002. External Glyph firewire for sessions. My question is, that when I bounce to disk, everything works just fine, but no channel meters , or plug in windows etc give any visual indication. Nor do do the meters on my 002 desk give any level indication .
Now whilst this is not a major problem, it is very re-assuring to be able to confirm that , say, my L1 Limiter is not overdriving, and that levels overall are ok. whilst listening to or checking the bounce process.
In OS 9, these kind of things all showed up during the "Bounce" process, so why not in OSX?
Any suggestions?

I think the lack of response may be due to the thinking that if your levels aren't good or your limiter is overdriving you would have figured this out prior to bouncing to disc, or be able to hear it and abort, as opposed to having to see it. You could get some external meters, or slave another computer and use that as your master deck and just play it in as opposed to bouncing to disc. Other than that, no sure how to deal.

P.S. L1 is ALWAYS overdriving.
