Default Pro Tools 8.0.3 Digi 002: Hardware not recognized

Hello. I run 0S 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro. My mbox works fine and is recognized, but my digi isn't. I've uninstalled and reinstalled PT with no luck. When i power on the hardware, everything is working. All lights are go in the front, and in the back, the green light next to the firewire port is green.
It used to work just fine. I'm very curious if there is a way to alter my computer's settings so that it can recognize it.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Are you aware of the dreaded(and well-documented) power harness issue that hits most 002's? Can you test the 002 on another system? Is it the rack or controller version(and have you tried re-seating the harness connections)?

I have read about this issue. I figured since it was turning on that it wasn't a power harness issue. Quite frankly, i'm quite unsavvy with this stuff. What would it mean to re-seat the harness, and how would I do this? THanks for responding

I explained it pretty fully in that post. I wouldn't be surprised if a youtube search turned up a video
