Default anomaly * CROSSFADE *

Good morning everyone, and hope all are tracking well.

I tried searching this issue, I'm having with no luck. When I do a cross fade I can see the wave form get bigger, not smaller behind the cross fade, thus, creating a pop in the audio?, it has never done that before. When I delete the cross fade, the pop is not as loud. I've even tried making the cross fade longer, and that doesn't help. Only in certain spots this happens. In other areas when I apply a cross fade, the wave form shrinks and does what it is intended for.

THANKS SO MUCH
