Well I got everything up, optimized and running on the XP drive running PT 8.0.1...I got 210 Dverbs (v8); I should get a better number once I get a Caviar Black drive for my audio files; the CPU was only maxing out at 77% but the disk was around 85-90% (it's an older OWC external FireWire). So far I have to say I'm quite impressed!

OK, after a week of struggling and figuring how to get it to all work, IT IS DONE!

My specs: Windows 7 64 Ultimate, Intel i7 980X, Noctua NH-D14, Asus P6X58D Premium, Kingston HyperX 12 GB DDR 1600, GeForce 9800GT 1GB Silent, Intel X25-M 160GB SSD, 3) WD 1TB Black, Plextor PX-880SA, Seasonic X-750, Digi 003 w/ version 8.03cs2

Just did a verb test and at 64 samples, 58 to 60% CPU usage, I got 348 going for the required 5 minutes. How do I add more? I have a CPU Usage gadget on my desktop and it was using all 12 cores.

My old quad rig would choke on 1/4 that much. I am more than pleased with this new build. I wonder how much better the official release will allow the system to run.

Well worth the time and money spent. I was contemplating upgrading to the HD with the offers right now but I don't think I need to for my usage although the ADC would be nice.

...he dances off to dreamland...

32 audio, then you keep adding aux's, adding 5 dverbs a piece still it wont let you record from errors or you cpu usage meter in pt starts to clip in the red.

you should be able to get quite a bit better numbers. i can hit around 340 some on my 920 oc'd to about 3.8 but that is with 48 audio and the rest aux's.

More testing today...

I pulled off 487 dverbs today @ 1024 and 90% CPU usage. I think that's about the limit of this system until I get brave enough to overclock that expensive CPU.

I would like to say thank you to all you guys, you all are what my son calls the bestest. This is my first post hope not the last. I've been reading around the DUC for about 8 years now.
I had to say something because I am so speechless about my new build.

002r
8.0.3cs2
COOLER MASTER Storm Sniper case
ASUS P6X58D-E MB
i7-930
COOLER MASTER V8 cooler
COOLER MASTER 600W PS
ASUS 9500 GT 1GB 128-bit
WD Black 640GB 64mb
WD Black 1TB 64mb
CORSAIR XMS3 (3 x 2GB)
XP Home SP3
ASUS Black DVD Burner

I did a Dverb test and got 410 dverb OC'ed @ 3.9. Backed it down to 3.4 and got 350 deverb. All I can say is this is the fastest pc I ever built.
And again I would like to say thank you for making this a very good day.
PS. this was my first Intel pc I have always been an AMD lover. So keep this between us, OK
