Is there Tech Support anywhere that ISN'T a joke??

Looking for a little help here...
A new i7 build with Windows 7. I downloaded the 8.03 full installer and it always hangs up installing the drivers for the 003. I read it takes time when the hardware is not plugged in so I let it sit overnight but it's still at the same spot. I have used the uninstall tool included but I can't seem to get past this point. Should I let it see the hardware and then install the 8.04 driver?

get the first page first and foremost, even print off the first couple posts which are kept up by mykhal. lots of the basic setup notes that are better to be prepared for ahead of time.

Guitardom, you have a GA-EX58-UD3R?
I´m going for the GA-X58A-UD3R.

Today is the day that I'm going to build my new machine. The specs are:

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R
Processor - Intel i7 920
OCZ Gold 4GB - Memory

This setup should cost around 500 or so. Would anyone recommend (or not recommend) this setup? If so, why not?

Also, if (for any reason) they don't have this setup at Fry's, what should I look for to get instead, that's equivalent (or better) then the above specs? What i7 (or i5) should I stay away from in regards to a compatible system with PT LE?

Ive read that Asus and Gigabyte motherboards are good are ok. Anything else that i should look for or watch out for?

As was mentioned, there are plenty of success stories with the Gigabyte and I think I just had a bad board so you should be fine...
I tested my X58A with Corsair CMX6GX3M3C1600C7 & Patriot Viper RAM and has issues with both. I also received hard drive errors with the X58A that went away with the Asus so I'm sure it was just a bad board...
Having said that, I'd probably buy G-Skill RAM if I had to do it over, and stick to the Gigabyte QVL for supported RAM part numbers.

By the way, I just re-tested Dverb 2 and found that Aux tracks use considerably less CPU than Audio Tracks so my numbers were skewed when I used 48 Audio + Aux tracks.
I ran a DVerb 2 with 32 Audio + additional Aux tracks at 2.6GHz, 1024 buffer and got 310 DVerbs. That's 35 more than I got with 48 Audio + Aux (a 15% increase).
I haven't tested OC'd to 3.2GHz but I suspect I'd get ~380 instead of 325.
