Singers do hear themselves 1) inside their head (opera singers rely on this, try to use earplugs and sing, you hear yourself "through the bones"), 2) from mouth to ear (as in without monitors), 3) from the monitor

So there is two summing happening, first the acoustic one (never a problem, calculate distance from mouth to ear to get acceptable latency in milliseconds, this is very much comb filtering range), and then the difference from mouth and monitor.
