Would love an S3 but not for $5k!

Seriously, 5 thousand dollars. I could see a price point at 2k with the option to eventually buy used for just over a grand. But 5 thousand dollars for a controller and a basic audio device seems outrageous. I love my Mc Control but I sure would like to get an S3....

Does this seem ridiculous to anyone else to cost so much?

I dunno about that. AVB is far from basic, you can get insane channel counts with incredibly low latency.

If you have no need for the audio capabilities, why not invest in a couple Artist Mix units?

This is $1k, so, with 16 faders and improved everything, I would have liked (and possibly already bought one) if it were $2995, maybe $3495 tops.

Would have been nice in our smaller studio room where we have the 4 artist series units and get rid of them except for the Transport to use with the S3.
