pops with adat optical in and rosetta
Hi all, I am getting pops on my audio tracks. I have the output of my mackie going into the rosetta . the rosetta is going into the adat optical in, the sync mode is set to optical buffer was 512 samples, everything matches up as far as sample rate of session and rosetta. I also have a mpx 500 hooked up through the spdif, does this have anything to do with it. Thanks for any info.

Re: pops with adat optical in and rosetta
It's quite possible that having two devices connected (spdif/optical) is the cause of the problem. Disconnect one and see what happens.

Re: pops with adat optical in and rosetta
The Rosetta must be the master clock as it ONLY has clock output. I'm not sure if the MPX500 has BNC input on it, does it? IF so, you're in-luck... if not, you might have a problem here.

Re: pops with adat optical in and rosetta
I put the lexicon's clock source on external and i am still getting some pops. What else could it be. the sample rate is the same as the session.

Re: pops with adat optical in and rosetta
You have (3) devices connected digitally, only ONE can be the master and in this case the Rosetta should be the master... it's a FAR superior clock for reducing jitter. The problem is you do not have BNC input on the Digi001 and I don't believe so on the MPX500 either. You "might" be able to get away with SPDIF output to the MPX and ADAT output to the Digi001 and have everything as a slave...not sure on that. But the problem is then when you connect the Digi001 to the MPX...CLOCKS WILL BE OUT OF SYNC there.

The lexicon is going through the spidif so I don't understand how this all works

Re: pops with adat optical in and rosetta
you can not use adat s/p dif and coaxial s/p dif at the same time. Not on 002 anyway and I think that goes for 001 as well.

Re: pops with adat optical in and rosetta
I shut down the lexicon and It seems to work although the pops were faint and random so I am not absolutly sure.
