Re: Bounce To Disk Location not staying with Session

Yeah it's not a problem if you do it that way, but a lot of us use different workflows and don't bounce to the Bounced Files folders and that's when the problem happens. The "right place" isn't the same for everyone.

But if they asked the users a simple question, the bounce window would have a global setting and "follow session" tickbox for override.

I also heard back from Avid Product Specialists Jeff Komar "The 3rd Option: Directory should be global and sticky: Session Folder: Defaults to Bounce Files subdirectory in current working session. Prompt – on clicking Bounce will prompt for a location and is also sticky regarding the last directory tree. Directory: Global and sticky. Not session based but rather global. I would highly recommend checking out the 1-5 chicklets or Presets which are super handy for immediately switching between formats and paths on a click. Use CMD + (number) click to program a chicklet macro. Set all of the attributes first." Best, Jeff Komar

Yup, bug reported. See my ticket reply from Avid below:
My apology. This issue is related to the "Pro Tools does not save the directory location for bounced files specific to each session" that is currently being investigated by our engineering team. Thank you for reporting the issue. I've submitted your case information to Engineering to assist with their research in the matter. For your reference, the defect/bug number is PT-269153. There is currently no estimated time for a possible resolution but if we have an update in the near future we will pass that along to you. It is our general policy to provide a defect number then close the case. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns before we do so. Thank you for your patience regarding this.
