Should I choose +6dB or +12dB ?
OS 10.3.4
Digi 002 PT LE 6.4 Just upgraded from 6.0.2 to 6.1 to 6.1.2 to 6.4. Now, when I open Pro Tools files that were created in 6.0.2 I get a message that says something like: Would you like to change Fader Gain Difference from +6dB to +12dB, or remain with +6dB? What would happen if I did, or if I didn't change? Thanks. James |

Re: Should I choose +6dB or +12dB ?
It's a personal preference thing. I usually change it to +12. Whether you do or don't it doesn't change anything "audio-wise". It just gives you more room to maneuver on you individual track faders.

Re: Should I choose +6dB or +12dB ?
Yep, the only time I choose not to check the 12dB option is when I know I'm supposed to further take my session to a TDM studio still running under OS9 (and PT5xxx). In this case, if your session was mixed using a lot of those +12dB fader, you're in trouble...
