Default ProTools Book?

Are there any REALLY good ProTools books out there? I want to learn as much as I can about ProTools. I have it at work and home, but I'm not very proficient with the plugins. It would be great to have something that explains in detail EVERY aspect of ProTools.

If anyone knows of a good ProTools book please let me know.

Best way to reach me would be email, since I don't really get on here that much. [email protected]

Thanks for your help,

Jessica

hi,

i was about to place a similar post, just got the software but a book/manual but would be really handy. Has anyone done the course?

Is the basic course worth doing if you just want to use pro tools at home/studio but not go professional?

I bought this one when I first started out, and it gives a well rounded view of the software...

Anyone tried this one?

I'm looking for something beyond the basics, and this one seemed promising. If anyone has had a look at it please voice your opinions, or have other recommandations for intermediate-to-advanced PT litterature.

HEY! I highly recommend "PRO TOOLS FOR DUMMIES". Got mine from "Buy . Com" but hink it's available from the "Dummies" website. Absolutely invaluable! Trying to switch screens back & forth from the tutorial is sometimes painful, and you can't spend 8 hrs a day in front of your computer monitor. With the dummies book you can just read the heck out of it in your spare time and familiarize youself with lots of stuff before trying to execute. Also is, as usual, written for 1st time users rather than the PTLE tutorial, which seems to be written to professional engineers. Very precise & easy to understand.

Depends what hardware you have (002 rules)

And BTW, most people here spend 9-23 hours a day in front of the computer screen....

Yeah, what a rube, huh? Just a part timer here. Plumber by day, musician at night. After a full day about 3 hrs is all I can take. Rock on, dude.

I am taking a recording class at my local city college and they require the Official Pro Tools 101 Courseware book. It is actually very good from basics to walking you through the program step by step to advanced features.
