Default Pro Tools Accel PCIE Card colors

I was looking to expand my current system with some used Accel PCIE cards and I’ve seen some that have a blue card and then some with a green card. I’m think the blue ones are the newer ones but I’m not positive.

Are there differences between the two and should one be avoided and one preferred?

Thanks

Hi,

I think you’re right the last ones manufactured were blue. But with cards this old it doesn’t mean much! No way of knowing how hard a life a card has had.

No difference of course. Try buying from someone who presents well and appears to take care of them. I’ve seen Ebay listings with people holding multiple cards in their hands lol so just look for good ones

Chris

All PCI-express cards should be blue, AFAIK. The green ones are PCI-X and if you ever find a red card it is a prototype.

Actually both types are labeled HD Accel (for PCIe) so I’m sure they’re both the same just different colors.

Alrighty, I stand corrected. Haven't seen a green PCIe card, all I have used have been blue.

That's what I am thinking too. All PCI-EXPRESS cards I have seen have been blue, but the older ones were green and blue depending on the manufacturing date.

And if ever you see a red card, it is a prototype.
