Actually PT 11.3.2 works just fine on OSX10.12.6. The only known issue is that you can't import audio via the drop down menu item but it can be done by drag and drop from Finder. Been with PT 11.3.2 inside OSX 10.12.6 aka Sierra for about a year now. There's a difference between not supported and won't work and this is one of those.

Do this: make a clone of your system using Carbon Copy Cloner (you do have clone backups of your system right?). Create a second partition on your system drive. Install OSX 10.12.6. Install your music s/w. Work in PT minus the import issue.

Agreed, this bug has me at the point. As I have said, Avid have until my sub runs out in October, if this bug is still an issue in PT tools then I'm moving to Studio One 4 (I have several friends using SO4 & they love it & wonder why I put up with PT lacks ie no ARA2, track folders, drag & drop etc).

This basic necessity functionality bug has just compounded my frustrations with PT, I have stuck by Avid giving them my sub payment every year hoping they will implement at least ARA & FIX THIS BUG. What we get are some updates that give us features the other DAWs have had for ages, PT is just too behind the competition

I already have 2 partt on my sys disk, one with yosemite and the other with HS. I should try to upgrade yosemite to Sierra. But when I reinstatiated to vs 12.x and 2018 I had some strange issues at buffer below 256. I also had this issue with HS until the 10.13.6 that resolved this issue. A session with audio files only with no plugins inserted showed cpu spikes, that went away by closing the edit window. Weird. I don't know how the 11.3.2 works on sierra about this problem.

I totally agree with you about how Avid is far behind its competitors and full of bugs, furthermore this annual "tax" we have to pay them for being beta testers. But when mixing PT is still the best tool. I was thinking about a system with a modern daw, like cubase, S1, etc on a computer that send digital signals to another computer for mixing in PT. But it is too complicated.

Don't have any cpu spiking problems but then again I don't run under 256 buffer. And I keep the edit window open all the time as well as the mix window. Sometimes 60+ tracks audio with plugins on busses. My system details are in my profile page.

It seems that this issue was related to the HDX only

Agreed.

I have mixed some of my best work in Logic 6,7, 8 & 9. When Apple took over I got worried 😬 then they turned in X (10) then mixing in Logic became s***

PT is indeed great for mixing but by no means IMHO the ultimate for it. For me I will mix in what will be my primary DAW & in time depending Avid that may be Studio One.

I was hoping that in future releases Avid would have fixed the sample rounding error on audio. Instead since PT 12 they have introduced this error on midi as well. Unbelievable

I know, you'd think they should know what they're doing......

Today I installed the 10.12.6 on another disk and installed PT 11.3.2 but it doesn' t recognize the HDX. I've also tried to install the pt12.6 driver but with no success. At this time on Yosemite I have problems with NI stuff that want at least the 10.11
