Default Firepod

I was looking for some input from any users who use a Firepod as their Interface. I'm looking to purchase a new 8 input interface and have heard good things about PreSonus' Firepod. Also, what other interfaces have you guys used with good results?

I am looking for Firewire connects with XLR ins (not just TRS) and preferably Pre's too.

Thanks again.

On this forum, people usually talk about ProTools issues. The Firepod has very limited use in this context - you could probably use it to add two channels of I/O to a Digi 001 or 002 system via S/PDIF.

On the other hand, I've also heard it's good with other programs. I've used (briefly) the Firebox, little brother to Firepod, and it's a nice little gadget.

I understand your point about firepod being out of context per this forum, but I thought it would be relevant due it being used in conjunction with ProTools LE.

So, let me rephrase my question.

I currently have ProTools LE and an Mbox. I need to upgrade the amount of Inputs I have into my system and would like to know what interfaces people are using here, since I value this forum's users opinions.

You can't increase the number of inputs on an Mbox. You're limited to 2 in, 2 out. You could use an external mixer to combine sources, but they won't go on individual tracks.
