Default Midi editing problem...

there is a very strange midi problem in PT - If I play something on my midi keyboard, quantize it after recording and then try to copy it, sometimes the first note of the block I copy gets lost while copying.... if I shorten the beginning of the first note a bit (in slip mode) I can copy the whole thing (with the first note...

but like this the first note is a bit too late (because i made it shorter at the beginning)

the same thing if I try to make regions out of a Quantized track and then try to copy them... some of the first notes get lost and others get pasted (as they should)

does anybody has the same problem - is this a bug in PT midi editing?????

My guess is that the first note(s) were a little early and in quantizing they were closer to an earlier 16th note (or whatever quantize note you selected) than to the downbeat of the section you are recording. If you slide it close to the downbeat then re-quantize it should lock up correctly and be able to be copied.

...it does not - if I take the first note and place it manually ( in quantize to bars mode) there is the same problem...
any other suggestions???

After you move it take a look at the event list to see exactly where the note on is.
