Sandra Report

OK,
Just installed a new CPU because the Sandra report could not get past the CPU Arithmetic part. The computer would completely shut down. So now it's gets past the CPU section and when it gets to the power section it sits at 8%. That must have lasted about 10 to 15 minutes. Should I let it go or does it sound like a need a new PSU?
Ideas...anyone?

Yikes.

Does sound like you need a new PSU... but what are the basic specs of your computer? Win version?

Well for starters... Sp2 expired a long long time ago. Everything built within the last couple years has been written for sp3, including Pro Tools. 8.0.3 isn't technically qualified for sp2, either.

If I were you, I'd clone my drive and try updating to sp3. If that doesn't help, a new PSU is probably in order.

I had XP Pro, SP3 on a hard drive and tried running Sandra before. It would shut the machine down with a BSOD, lol. It wasn't until I moved to Windows 7 that I was able to run Sandra. I have no idea what was causing the issue though--the XP Pro edition I was running was shipped with SP3.
