Default Graphical issues with the MBox Pro Control Panel on El Capitan 10.11.4

I'm having serious graphical issues with the MBox Pro Control Panel on;

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
with an Apple LED Cinema Display, 24-inch (1920 x 1200)
El Capitan 10.11.4 (15D21)
ProTools 12.4.0.294
MBox Pro 3 drivers and firmware up-to-date from the Mbox_OSX_1.2.8.dmg installer

There are both an MBox and an MBox Pro preferences panel in my System Prefs.
(should there be?).
The MBox control panel in System Prefs, when clicked, says "The Mbox control panel seems to be missing. Please try reinstalling the Mbox software."
The MBox Pro control panel launches the app, but the UI is unusable. Screen grab attached.

I've uninstalled using the MBox 1.2.8 uninstaller and also AppCleaner.
Reinstalled, but still the same issue.

Anyone anything similar happening, any ideas?

I see a lot of people having issues with El Cap and MBox 3. Any news from Avid? Thanks

You might consider getting rid of the MBox as long as you can get a few bucks on Ebay for it.
You have a nice relatively current powerful Macbook which you can have for years unlike the MBox 3.
The whole series 3 models are on their way to seriously become legacy. There have been so many
issue reports about the MBox 3 Pro in particular since OSX Yosemite and it will not get any better anymore.
Those boxes were made for completely different (older) kinda systems, many years ago. There are good
chances there won´t be any drivers for the next version of OSX available anymore as Avid have skipped all
series 2 models with OSX El Capitan already.

If you still will need 4 pres, why not check out the brand new, really high class Focusrite Clarett 4pre?
It definitely is a class above the MBox as for it´s preamp and converter quality and seems to be on sale at
Sweetwater at the moment.

If 2 pres would be enough

I forgot to say those are most current Thunderbolt interfaces offering the lowest latency on the market.

Another brand new, real USB 3 interface with 2 pres yet a lot of I/O options.

If you can afford a bit more and you would be interested in having 8 pres (great quality yet under 1k).

Just as food for thought.

Anyway the best of success to you,

If I can't find a solution I'll probably get a new UA Apollo Quad. Was hoping to get another year out of my MBox though. :-(

Mbox 1.2.8 is for the Mbox (not the Mbox Pro). If you have an Mbox Pro then you should remove the Mbox driver and install the Mbox Pro driver (1.3.2 was qualified with El Capitan).

No.

This is because you don't have an Mbox (you have an Mbox Pro).

What version of Mbox Pro driver did you install?

Hi Jeffro. Thanks for the reply. I've uninstalled all MBox drivers etc. and downloaded and installed the 1.3.2 driver/control panel.

There's now just an MBox Pro launcher in my System Pref's.

I'm still having exactly the same GUI problems with 1.3.2

I've tried turning off "Use LCD font smoothing when available" in my General System Pref's as suggested in another forum... no luck.

I've seen a couple of posts with this GUI problem by users on Yosemite.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
