Default Optimal hard drive settings in the Playback Engine menu

I was wondering what the optimal settings for the harddrive were. I have everything set to 'recommended' now, but I was wondering if there was anything to gain by using the other settings. I can't really tell any difference, but I haven't really experimented with the settings properly.

I'm on an i7 iMac with an 003+ and a FW800 drive.
